Isaac is on vacation

Well, my board exam is almost here. Isaac spent some time at the Lewis' in Hillsboro a couple weeks ago, and now he's in Russell County with the Miles' for the week. I'm so grateful to have such wonderful in-laws and parents to help me out so I can prepare for the FINAL final. I have actually been studying, but needed a break and decided to update the blog. He always hogs the keyboard when he's here, anyway.

Jeremy is doing well at work -- always staying busy. He's also moonlighting as project manager for the building design on our pediatric practice. He took us on vacation in September, and it was a blast! The Cards aren't fantastic this year, so football hasn't overtaken the house. But, by the looks of things, basketball will definitely make up for any lost time.

Life after residency if nice --- verrry nice. Of course, life after boards will be even better. I've spent a lot of time studying, but I'm finally seeing a light. Had I only known 11 years ago.... I'm also moonlighting at Kosair Children's Hospital emergency department and I've really enjoyed it. It keeps me thinking and is a nice break from housework.

Isaac is growing, and moving, and talking, and screaming.... He's a pretty funny little guy. He'll be 9 months next week; I know, believe it! He's pulling up everywhere and loves to slide across on his belly under the coffee table. He said Dada for about 5 days, but decided that actual words aren't really his thing. He loves to squeal and hums anytime you take him for a stroll or in the car. Our friends say he's getting ready for marching band. I say, "what's wrong with that!?!" I am getting a little nervous for when he walks, because he's already really fast on all fours. He has a look in his eyes that if it's off limits, he's definitely going to check it out. Plus, we all know that the Miles' aren't built for speed, so he'll probably be able to take me in a footrace by January.

I updated the Picasa photos with some that Mom sent me from this week. I played around with the editing a little, so please bear with me I think I got a little carried away. I have TONS of pictures from vacation, but I haven't organized them yet. I'll get those up next week after my test. Isaac will be back then, and he likes to have a final say on what gets published. See ya then!

I'm mobile guys!!

Hey there, friends. I'm so sorry that I haven't blogged in a while, but now that Mommy's done with work, she just studies, studies, studies -- and we go to Target a lot. Also, I am totally done with my swing, so I'm a little more needy (or so they say). Lots has happened since I last talked to you guys; here are my pictures as proof.
Daddy is doing well. He's still working a lot, but we party when he gets home. He stays busy working in the yard, and I'm his big helper. He's teaching me that the best job is to be the "supervisor". That way I don't have to do any work, but I can criticize when it's not done correctly. It's working out well for me so far. Grandma Lewis came to visit in August. She kept me for a whole week while Mommy went to New Orleans for, you guessed it, more studying. We had a great week. I got to spend some quality time with her. Grandma played with me a lot and rocked me all the time. I've decided that there's no reason I should ever have to sleep alone again. I mean, if she can rock and hold me during every nap, why can't Mommy? And for going to sleep at night by myself, that's just silly. If I get back up at 10:00, I get another meal! It's fantastic. I should have done this a long time ago.
As I've said, Mommy is studying a lot for her boards. Apparently going to school for 8 years and then working 80 hours/week for 3 years still doesn't qualify her to be a pediatrician. I keep telling her she should have been an engineer like Daddy, and I think she agrees. She reads and reads. When my friend Lilly comes over, she hates to see Mommy's books. I think her mommy has the same books and those books make her cry. I think they make Mommy cry a little too.
We also got a new elliptical machine! It's really cool. I play with my toys in the basement while Mommy gets on it. Did I tell you I can roll and crawl now? I hate using my knees, so I crawl like an army guy (or airforce guy, Uncle Nick) using only my arms. I play with my toys like a good boy, and then when Mommy gets on the elliptical, that's my chance! I usually go for the TV equipment and wires. Sometimes I'll rip up her book. She gets off, moves me back to my toys, and the game starts all over again. It's pretty cool. I can't believe I thought of such neat game.
It was great blogging today. I'll be sure to update more often. Daddy's going to upload some videos soon, so I'll be sure to let you guys know when that happens. I can't wait to see everyone in Russell Springs this weekend. Bye!

Catching Up

Hey guys. Sorry, I haven't blogged in a while; I've been busy getting in touch with my Eastern KY roots as you can see. June has been lots of fun! Mommy was very busy at work but I think it's getting close to being over because she seems really happy lately. I know she and Daddy went to some sort of graduation but Mommy said it wasn't really about the graduates. I think she has only 1 more night in the hospital and then 1 more month until she's ALL DONE!! I got to stay with Sarah and my friend Sydney. Syd is 9 months old and really pretty! I can't wait to grow up and talk to her, but I'm afraid she'll take me on the b-ball court someday. We really missed Sam and hope he can come visit next time. But I think Sarah will have to call in reinforcements.

Granny T came to visit for the last 2 days. We had SO much fun as you can see. Taylor came with her and was a big help. I loved getting to see them. Nanny and Marti even stopped by too. I hope to go to Lake Cumberland soon to visit with all of them again.

Daddy went on his annual lake trip with his work friends. He came home late, and has a sunburn, so I think it was a success. I'm hoping to get outside in the pool with him today! I miss you all and will try to write more often now that Mommy isn't at Kosair all the time. Love ya!

Happy Memorial Day

Greetings from the 'ville. I'm having an awesome month so far. I've just been lounging around, and learning to talk. Or at least squeal. It seems to be getting me what I want, so that works for me. Here's a video of my new farm yard saucer ; it is pretty fun. And, oh yeah, I have a new nanny! Her name is Sarah, and she's a brunette (my favorite). She's pretty awesome and I think we're going to have a rockin' summer together. Check out all of my new pictures on Picasa. Granny T and Pop just got back from a tour de South vacation. They spent 4 days in the car, and 4 days at the beach! I actually think they had a good time, but I know they missed me. I miss all of you guys too. I'll write more later. Love ya!

Hello from the 'ville!

Hey guys, I'm finally back. Mommy's been at work A LOT, so she hasn't let me get on to blog much. I have so much to tell you. April has been a lot of fun, but I can't wait for the warm weather!

Uncle Nick came all the way from Columbus, MS with his buddies. They flew in the T1 in Thunder over Louisville, and it was pretty awesome. Mommy and Daddy watching it from the Riverbats stadium, but I have fun playing with my Cousin Taylor and her friend Sydney. Aunt Marti did lots of pull-ups at the marine booth. The girls were just supposed to hang, but she set the day's record with 6! She's FIFTY, fifty years old folks! And her name's NOT sally o'mally.

My great-Nanny came to visit me for 4 days the week after Thunder. We had so much fun! You'll have to check out our pictures we took! The next week was Derby, and it was great. T came up and we had a fun week of walks in the nice weather and dressing up to match the derby events. I didn't get to go to any, but maybe next year. Mommy took me back to Beauty First to get her hair done again. I played with the pretty girls again. I LOVE that place! Miss Leslie made Mommy happy, and Miss Julia is my new girlfriend!

Uncle Nick had a big derby party in Columbus, and I didn't get to go. I heard there was lots of bourbon, hats, and pretty ladies. Maybe next year. Mommy and Daddy and I went to Sam's house for a big party. Sam's mommy and daddy sure know how to throw a party. There were lots of kids there. We just wish the adults would have been more quiet so we could watch the ponies race! Daddy got some video with our new video camera, but I haven't figured out how to blog it. Give me some time!

I got to spend yesterday morning with my great-Grandma Miles. We had a fun time together, and I can't wait to go back! Today, I've enjoyed a big morning with Mommy. Her new schedule gives her one whole day off a week. So we are hanging out and doing laundry today. She works on the weekends, so Daddy and I can get into trouble! I can't wait for T to come back up so we can have fun together again. Next week my new babysitter, Sarah, will be here, so I'll keep you guys posted on how that goes!

Wasted Away Again....

I have so much to tell you guys this week. It was great! After Easter, Granny T came back up and we had a big week of playing!! She continued to do laundry and clean, and I think Daddy likes her cooking better than Mommy's. Mommy's still back at work -- bottles are awesome! I can eat so much faster! I need to lay off though, or they're going to make me join the WW.

Pop came to visit on Friday, and we went to Grandma Miles' to visit my cousins. They came all the way from North Carolina, so of course we had to see them. They are very smart and even have their own CD. I can't wait to go visit them and see the beach!

We made our first big trip to Los Aztecas Friday night. It was a blast, and the pictures tell the whole story! I'm sure it was my first of many trips to Margaritaville...

Finally, there's big news out of Russell County. My cousin Jaxon was involved in a car accident, and it wasn't the demolition derby like uncle Sean likes to get into. My great-aunt Patty was parked in the parking lot and her van was rear-ended. Jaxon was the only one in the car at the time. But, he's not injury free. He sustained whiplash, and will be seeing the chiropractor for 6-9 months. But no worries, I think he's gonna sue to recoup lost wages. Of course, there are pictures to depict his pain and suffering....

Back to work

Well, the time finally came to go back to work. It's been a long week, but thanks to my mom things are going smoothly. We're very lucky to have granny "T" stay with us and help out during the week. By help out, we mean watch Isaac, cook dinner, clean the house, do laundry, and iron. Jeremy's finally learning what it's like to have a real wife; she's really making me look bad! Isaac loves T and I think she kind of likes him too...
Work is the same, but I have a whole new perspective on where my patients' parents are coming from. It's been hard leaving in the mornings, and we haven't worked out a great schedule yet. Monday and Tuesday night, Isaac slept from 9:30 until I woke him up between 6 and 7 the next morning! Of course now that the weekend's here, he's back to getting up at 3 for a snack.
We got to see the Easter Bunny and I think he's bringing the little guy his first regulation basketball. We hope to have him palming it by Christmas (by the looks of his hands, it may be possible). We also had some "real" pictures made at Portrait Innovations. I highly recommend it if you want enough pictures to give out to everyone you've ever met for a good price. I posted them on the Picasa site. I also added a couple of new videos. Isaac was sucking his fingers in utero, and as you'll see, it's continued despite our best efforts to thwart it. I can throw a paci away someday, but I think people frown upon removing your childrens' appendages. We'll have to figure that out when the time comes. We're looking forward to T coming back tomorrow, as her leftovers only last so long! I think we're ALL getting a little spoiled. Leave us a message if you stop by the page! We miss ya.
